Miles today 46, running total 356
A day of rolling hills, smelly farmyards and views of the Shropshire Hills as we headed north through Church Stretton towards Shrewsbury. The weather was great!
.......and into Shropshire
There were two highlights today as we left Gloucestershire and entered Shropshire. Firstly, the mediaeval town of Ludlow with its half-timbered buildings. Not so much traffic through Ludlow which made it a pleasanter place to cycle through.

The next highlight was for Tommy. We cycled past the factory where his bicycle was assembled. He called in, told the staff what he was doing, and got a free mini service plus a photo with Tim, the manager of Islabikes.

Our picnic stop today was at Little Stretton nestling between the Shropshire Hills. We stopped outside a pretty half-timbered church with a thatched roof.

On to Shrewsbury and here is Tommy with 10 miles to go today, still cheerful after 350 miles under his belt.

None of us are looking forward to tomorrow’s ride. It will be a long day mostly along the busy A49 due to a lack of minor road alternatives. At the end of the ride we have to wind our way through the industrial grot lying between Liverpool and Manchester. Never mind, the Lake District lies ahead!
