Day 11 Lancaster to Grasmere: rain all day, but a Brief Encounter at Carnforth Station

Today's Miles 43 miles, running total 510

An eventful day today, despite the awful weather, it rained all day. We had a ‘Brief Encounter’ breakfast at Carnforth  Station comprising porridge and breakfast baps
I bet Trevor Howard didn't get better porridge than we did!

. Check out the steam engine that puffed into Carnforth Station:

Mini disaster out of Carnforth, our second puncture was (not so) swiftly repaired.
The 'Oily Rag' at work again....

On our way again and the rain is relentless. Windermere was choked with traffic and tourists  both disappeared by the time we got to Ambleside. We eventually arrived at our overnight stop at Grasmere and it finally stopped raining and the sun broke through for a few moments.
in Grasmrere, the sun did come out shortly after.......

Highlight this evening was the best meal to date at the ‘Potted Out’ Restaurant in Grasmere.
An important milestone today: we are now over half way to John O Groats!
 Tomorrow we cycle to Carlisle.
